Math question %?

I guess this is a percentage question, 8.75 is what percent of 9 ?
What formula do you use?
What I'm trying to figure out is,,,change the 9 to 12, so if 8.75 is A and 9 is B, what is the A number if B is 12?
For some reason tihis is confusing the heck out of me

Just divide 8.75 by 9. You'll get .9722. Since hundreths convert directly to percent, 8.75 is 97.2% of 9.

8.75 / 9 = .972 = 97.2%

12 * .972 = 11.66
