Here's Another Good One

Getting shocks at the grocery store from Static Electricity

I did a little looking around the net to find out I'm not alone.

Nuttin more irrating then reaching for a loaf of bread and getting zapped. If it were the dead of winter I could understand it a bit more...But when it's 100ºF outside....Guess maybe the instore A/C is drying the air out.

Maybe I'll carry a sharp metal knife around with me and scare the shelving out of not shocking me.

Anyone else been here before?

Or you could use that static electricity to get your windows to come up.

I like playing with static electricity. My cat on the other hand.....

It's always car doors with me during all seasons except winter. I go to open a car door, I get zapped. I go to shut one, I get zapped. Go figure

Hold a coin to the item to discharge the static electricity. You wont feel the discharge this way.

I usually only get shocked in the winter, but then, yeah, it's everything.....grocery store shelves, car doors, house doors, other people. My family tells me they think I shuffle my feet when I walk and that's what causes the static to build up, because neither of them seem to have this problem.....I'm not aware that I "shuffle" though......at least I don't THINK I do.

Don't work on your motherboard in the grocery store.
