Outlook Express 6.0 and it's hidden Destructions
For all who are using Outlook express version 6.0 the one which installs with Internet Explorer 6.0 - may you are interested to read this.
Micorsoft is making huge OS's WinXP ~1GB Win2K ~750 Mb WinMe ~500 MB to place on a users computer - and doesn't care if someone likes it or not - even we pay for.. By default the OE folders has 5 differend folder to Inbox , Sent Items, Outgoing ,Deleted and Draft mails .. The user has the choice of creating Personal subfolders .. Also by Default in the tools section of OE there are some settings which can not be disabled those settings include one setting of wasted space for mails which also by DEFAULT is set to 20% BUT AGAIN IT CAN NOT BE DISABLED But MSSOFT does care if a user has over 20% "waste" in his Outlook Express folder and then just DELETES all the entire Mails on the users computer - Your programming just destroyed MY work without to ask - Micorsoft,at least you could program OE to inform you that you are close to the limit and ASK if the user likes to clean up - Anybody who is using OE 6.0 - go to TOOLS OPTIONS MAINTENANCE and make sure that the percentage of the WASTE SPACE IS set high enough for you not to have to feel sad as I do.. It just cleaned out about 800 Emails from the last 20 days which weren't made a backup of.. There is no OPTION to disable it.!!! Beneath a copy of the LOGFILE just to state that this is a true thing .. I'm very sad as I lost a lot of important material -.! HERE you can see the setting - BLUE MARKED - I just increased it.!

Update
I just found out that the deletion of the Messages folders can be prevented by disabling = Unmark the checkbox "Compact Messages in the backgound" this will also disable the Checkboxes below...
Because there is NO BACKUP made by OE - if it is going to CLEAN UP - all your mail will be GONE for good..Hope this helps to prevent things like the ones happen here, on other peoples computers... |

Does it happen only in OE 6.0, or in OE 5.0 too?
