4th of July
So, what is everybody doing to celebrate the 4th?
We don't have any real plans, just plan to relax around the house. We would normally take off in the RV for the long weekend but decided against it this year. We stopped going to watch fireworks a few years back because we'd rather not deal with the crowds and traffic. Parades are out due to the crowds, not to mention that they are just plain boring. Yeah, I know, not very patriotic, huh? I'm sure some of you have more ambitious plans so what are they?

I'll be going to school... but on the 1st of July, will probably go to the park to watch the fireworks for Canada Day.... other than that.... fixing my car... provided I can find a place open today with the part.

That "gang" which is about 30 people will be doing a big fish fry on Saturday evening...
On a related note about parting: Texas has been doing a "No Refusal" thing on holidays for a couple years now... If the police so much as suspect you've been drinking and driving you have to blow or have a blood test... No Can Refuse cause they'll take it anyway. They have judges all over town that will sign the warrants etc... So far - its been pretty effective.

We'll likely just stay home as usual. We live just outside Enid's city limits and since they have a "no fireworks inside city limits" law, all the city folks think it's a great idea to go just a mile or two outside city limits and pop their fireworks off on the country roads. Our road is one of those they frequent. Not only do they make a mess by not picking up their beer cans, hamburger wrappers, what's left of their fireworks they set off, etc...but there's always a moron or two that manages to set the dry grass in the ditch on fire. That's why we stay home.....so we can have the water hoses ready or call the fire department in the event that fire comes blazing up the ditch to our lawns and houses.
