Question Calling all Photography people!! Help is needed

Well I am currently looking at digital cameras no DSLR for now. Needs to be under $200 without a tripod if it comes with tripod even better. Will need to do a lot of pictures and videos in full HD I prefer. With the best macro shot as possible in my budget range. Right now I am between two brand and models.

I am in the salt water fish tank hobby, so there will be a lot of close up or macro shot be done of stuff inside my tank being under water. A lot of videos in the best quality as possible to show the actual colors of my tank.

Fujifilm FinePix S2950
Kodak Z990

Help!?

Man, I don't think you can do anything with that budget.

You need to print out the specs of both cameras and see which one has the best specs... If you don't understand what some of the specs are - google them and learn more about cameras in general.

The problem with the pocket cameras is that they have smaller light sensors which are inferior to the size of the light sensors found in digital SLR's. It is not just a matter of getting a camera with a high number of pixels.

I say just go for the inexpensive camera and accept that what you get for $200 will still be plenty good. This is especially true if you have to shrink down the size of the photos in order to display them at a reasonable size on a computer monitor.

David M is right about sensor size.

Save up some more money and buy something used (DSLR) on photo.net.

$200 will get you a good point-and-shoot these days, but for the type of work you are wanting to do, *NO* P&S will be versatile enough or have high enough quality.

If you must get a P&S, I prefer Canon.

Newegg.com - Canon A3300 IS Silver 16.0 MP 3.0" 230k LCD 5X Optical Zoom 28mm Wide Angle Digital Camera

The on-camera flash will be your worst enemy.

I decided to save up more, since I won't have my tank up running until around November. I will keep an eye out there looking for a T2i for pic and videos.

That's definitely your best course of action, as you'll need a flashgun and possibly a macro lens.

I guess so, I've seen some crazy stuff with the T2i and I always wanted one. Might as well get one then. Thanks everyone!
