His frustration is understandable. A lot of folks out there are lucky enogh to find this forum let alone use the search. Me I wanna get my 1000 posts to get my avatar sice PCMech uped it from 750 to 1000 on me lol. No truely though I try my best to help people out although I must admit I'm not always right.
If I could only remember everything I've read here........hmmmmmm |

I agree, if more people used the search feature we'd have fewer "Can I upgrade the motherboard and not format the hard drive?" questions. However, sometimes questions need to be reasked again so that other users can add their experiences and opinions, and as hardware changes by the week so must the questions and answers. If new questions weren't asked then the forums wouldn't be as dynamic, it would be more like a FAQ. You also have to remember that most of the time the users who ask these questions are novices who just discovered the site and are looking for help, not for someone to yell at them "Use the search!" (which happens a lot on other forums).

Being novice isn't an excuse. I'm pretty new to PCs and I post Q's very, very rarely- just being extremly lazy, or like about BIOS. |

If you do a search, you'll see that I made a similar post about people not using the search feature enough a while ago.

copying and pasting seem good ...
Keep in mind not everyone uses all searches that are available.

It is just that some people don't get it. A site search is certainly the most efficient way to go. Some even if they know about the search will still ask the same question over and over because it is easier to ask than to look.
I am always amazed when I see people at work on computers. The funniest thing is filling out a form online. First they put in the first field, take their hands off of the keyboard, find the mouse, put the cursor in the next field. The do this thoroughout the form, then find the mouse again and click the submit button. I show them sometimes that they can use the tab key to go from field to field and then press enter to submit. But they usually go back to the mouse. Sorry that is my 'inefficient use of computers' rant of the day.

Mairving-
my favorite was when my instructor for Operating Systems walked around to all of the machines and pulled out the Mice. You can bet that people learned to use the keyboard real quick! |

Hi Guys,
I just like to add to this that you can find a lot of info/answers to problems by using a popular search engine like google as well. I've found a lot of answers to problems just by using google. |
