Dell Auction?

This is more of an experience question/opinion rather than a hardware problem, but here's question: I'm looking to buy a Precision desktop and was curious if anyoen has had any experiences with the Dell Auction site. I was thinking they would be good to purchase from since the units would be refurbished, rather than buying used on ebay. And the prices they go for, they do seem a bit low as compared to those on ebay, Is it a good idea to use Dell Auction? My plan is to turn a Precision into a media server and eventually maybe a gaming computer. I'm looking for the ones with the quad Xeon with the nvidia Quadro FX 4600. So any opinions would be helpful. Thank you

As far as I can tell http://dellauction.com is actually owned by dell and not a 3rd-party. Beyond that, I can't really offer any additional comments.

http://www.dell.com/outlet is also available, which features refurbished hardware at set prices. However, it doesn't look like the prices are much better than the retail prices.

A Xeon server with a Quadro card might not be very good as a gamer. GeForce cards are more suitable for games.

Yea I was looking into those Geforce cards, but for the time being, i'll just keep what it has in it and use that. The unit won't be used as a big gamer, probably the most it'll have on it is like the Sims 3 and/or Starcraft 2.

I ended up winning a bid on an auction, and got the Quadro FX1700 card. If only the hard drives they gave me weren't bad though, but the computer still has gold prosupport on it, so they're sending me 2 new ones out at no charge. Not too shabby

I got it for $345, then tack on tax and shipping, and the total came to $389. Not sure what the retail for the unit would come to, but, based on what dell direct sold it for, I saved about 100-150
