2k or not 2k? Audio Workstation
OK, it's time to choose. 98 Lite or 2k for my DAW boot.
Any opinions welcomed. Everything worked very well on 98, but I am tempted to try 2k. If I do, NTFS or FAT32? My old DAW has been sold, so I am going to have to take the plunge this weekend or fall even further behind on my projects. |

Well I run Win2000 using FAT32 -- but that's for speed only. I deal with a ton of video so I need as much speed from my RAID array as I can get and RAID+NTFS=slow. At least slower than FAT32. But Win2000 is stable as all #ell. But I do run Win98lite in my office and love it -- never had a problem with any audio work and I will do some audio work in my office when I'm rendering a long video project.
So I'd honestly say either will do, but 2000 is probably more stable. -Craig |
