Finally seems a bit more real
My diploma finally arrived today... put it in the frame I ordered.. just have to find a place to hang it up. Still hasn't really sunk in that I'm finished... the wife caught me referring to my job as my work term.

I dunno... only been on the new job for 2.5 weeks... had the "Awareness around electrical hazzards" training today... end of the month go to a two day course about high voltage and arc flashes. At this point, I guess I feel out the different positions I'm qualified for (and become qualified for) to find something I would like to stay with. During my work terms, I was quoting power systems out to the oilfields... pretty easy... well, now I'm quoting for urban commercial and residential systems... a little more complex, but still essentially the same thing. The big thing is that I am have my foot in the door at SaskPower which is what I wanted... good pay, great benefits, and even better retirement programs so I should be well off when the day comes.

That's great Hal! It soumds like you're in a long hallway with all the doors open but you cant exactly see what's in the room.
Just go with the flow for a bit, from here I'd be willing to bet your path may just be waiting for you to find it. You're right where you need to be - inside the first door. If I were you, I'd buy my time. Walk down the hall and see what's there before going in and shutting any doors behind you. You could just let what comes fall into place too. Meet and greet. Talk to everybody. And ask questions. Most folks are really happy to tell you about thier job. Anyway, Congrats Again. I'm really happy for you. It's always nice to hear about a good ending...er...begining. ![]() BTW If i had a degree in anything I'd hang my diploma in the Living room! My wife keeps her two in a file cabinet. Mine would be on display for the world to see. No modesty here at all - and the frame would be extravagant.
