Yep, I always turn the radio down when I'm driving at night, in an unfamiliar area, or coming across a sign that says "Welcome to California" when I thought for sure I was on the east coast.

Basically, the volume goes down or off when I need to concentrate.

Exactly. I love the radio / CD player etc. but there are times they are a distraction. When one needs to concentrate or is stressed, then it is usually not a pleasant thing, but a distraction.

I also use google earth for Android.. Basicall, when I'm on a ranch with different Wells (gas, oil) and I can't remember which of the many trails to go down to get to the right one.. I just open up google earth, have it find my location. That way I can see from high up which way I have to go. That along with my gps have said me so far.
