Pissed iPad Olympics defended ...

My temper frayed.
The sports fiends have the TV to themselves and I watch the sports that interest me on my iPad, or at least that was my plan.
Those NBC apps need every update they've had over the last 4 days but they're not the problem, the sports fiends are !
It's the replay on NBC Live coupled with the fact that the iPad is way more convenient then a laptop or the TV.

So I can't watch Gymnast or Soccer when there's a Basketball game?
My reply to that would have done credit to any NYC cab driver.

I've got my iPad back and the guys are sulking, let'em.
I call it home rule Title Ten.

Sports for all!

There has been a lot of complaints about NBC's monopolistic coverage of the Olympics in general. You aren't alone.

You would think with all the technology we have now that you could dial up whichever sport that interests you and watch it in real time or pre-recorded. But Noooooooooo, we have to watch what they want us to watch when they want us to watch it. I would like to see sailing, but the hell if they are going to show any.

Maybe next time one of the networks could show nothing but events with women in tight clothing. I would pay for that.

Indeed. That's part of the reason why so many people are cutting the cord when it comes to cable. Or never subscribing to begin with.

I think they already have that...

That's crazy. Is it not the 'main event' of the games?

We are getting all the "main events" here on tape delay. The other NBC channels (NBC Sports, Bravo, MSNBC, CNBC) are giving us the events that few people care about.

It seems the whole country has eyes on London this week. Haven't seen anything like the interest in my lifetime.

The cynic in me can't help but feel it's very false. So many 'interested' people care little about sport and certainly not about the obscure (and difficult-to-watch) sports they are now engrossed in.

Normality will resume soon, but in the meantime, there's a good feeling about the place!

I enjoy watching the Olympics more that other sports. Why?...I'm not sure. Perhaps because in the sports world it is a relatively rare event...a novelty in other words. The Olympics are not on every weekend.

It might also be that the Olympic athletes are not highly paid superstars that most of us are tired of hearing about. Most Olympic athletes are relatively obscure and some become famous right before our eyes....which I think is really cool to watch.

I dunno why, but I enjoy the Winter Olympics a lot more than the Summer Olympics.

We enjoy the women's gymnastics. How do they even practice w/o breaking something? Makes my body hurt just watching the flips and twists.

watch some of the falls these little girls take.

They were doing a profile piece on one of them (Kerry Strug?) and she fell off the bars and ended up with fractures in her lower back when she the ground and formed a V...so they do get hurt.

I like the woman's volleyball and not for the reasons you guys think. My daughter in law plays in an organized league. I have become rather engaged with the skill and strategy.
