My PC Museum

While going thru my storage unit today, one have had for too many moons, I found some stuff. Trying to downsize. A 10x10 climate controlled unit have had for 10 years and believe me the contents aren't worth it. But would fill an apt just fine if gal bud tosses me out or croaks and her son gets house and tosses me. ANYWAY, all that aside, I found some novelties I will put in a dedicated section of house like a monument. 2 Diamond Supra Express 56k modems, internal and external. 2 USR 56k modems, internal and external. My first Pentium 4 CPU from a build recommended by glc. I can throw in my first Norton Utilities and first diddly ram sticks, maybe Windows on floppies and of course Win95. Where to stop?

I still have a Pentium 4 system up and running at home! Are those out dated?

I have 2 of them on my KVM - one running Win2K and the other one running Linux. One of them self-built and the other is a Dell Dimension 4550. Both have 2.4/533 Northwoods.

I have a disassembled computer museum...five of those plastic crates filled with computer parts out in the garage. I will probably never get around to sorting through and throwing out what I will never need. I have four computers that I built around the house that we still use here. They are not as "classic" as your guys computers though.

Which one?

They are both air cooled now.

The midsize case one that you complained was too tight (and you were right) is now my music computer in the garage. The full tower Lian-Li with the huge three fan radiator on the top is now my Eyefinity computer.

My computer museum is even older, consisting mostly of working 8088 based systems such as the IBM PC and XT. I had planned on selling it piecemeal but decided I didn't want to hassle with haggling over the price, packing, shipping, etc... so offered it to any collector that showed up at my door with a truck to haul it away. Within minutes of posting my offer on another board, I got responses. I'm currently waiting to hear back from the first responder to make the arrangements for him to come pick it up.

Someone might want to play Pong with the 8088. You never know.

Have you been to this computer museum? It has all kinds of famous computers and other interesting things.

For any geek that visits the San Francisco Bay Area it is a must see.
