Paranoid Neighbors
Seems my new neighbors are freaked out by my cameras outdoors. Besides the ones mounted under the eaves, they somehow saw the camo ones in backyard attached to trees and poles pointed in every direction, but especially all the ones that are pointed towards them, although they are meant to cover my yard. I explained my cameras are aimed at my perimeter and just as at 7-11, they will of course pick up anything beyond. Nothing like new neighbors who are so paranoid. It's not like I'm in their house.

I don't think it is so much paranoia as it is a sense of losing their privacy. Offer to take down cameras that are pointed directly into their yard. I would not want my neighbor doing the same thing to me. My wife and I get in the hit tub nude and we don't need that kind of intrusion. Even if we wore our swimsuits, I would not like it.
Tell them none are a live webcam on the internet. Also tell them that you don't do anything with the recorded images unless there was a problem. Also tell them it is a deterrence which decreases the chance of their being a crime on both of your properties. Maybe they will then go get some cameras for themselves.

David, I did all that and they relaxed. They first asked about my floodlight on side of house shining upon my truck way into backyard and the other that shined on galbud's car in driveway and all way out to street. Once I explained they appreciated the extra lighting although they had to alter their bedroom shades. Then came the camera issue. I ain't changing the angles but also explained it helps them also maybe. so far ain't nude hot tubbing.

I'm trying to figure out which neighbor is most paranoid, the one questioning why there are cameras pointed in their direction or the one that needs all the cameras in the first place?

A legitimate ponder. We have a tree that literally splits our chainlink fence I mounted a camera on tonight, aiming at galbud's Honda. He and she worried more about the tree but assured them that the ty-rap wouldn't hurt it. Weird folks, and I will refrain stating where they are from. Seem very nice young couple.

Just do not tell them about your multipurpose infrared telescope array with matching camaras aimed at their windows.

Cameras are most effective if they are a deterrence. Once the crime occurs there is only so much that can be done after the fact. If your cameras are not highly visible to the crook who is considering doing a crime, then I wouldn't bother.
