just hit the Print or PrtScr key. It's located right next to F12. After hitting that key the screenshot is in clipboard and you can paste it to Paint or every other program. If you want to use it here as an attachment you have to shrink it to max. 102400 bytes. If you use 1024x768 then convert it to JPEG with a quality of 80%, that'll do fine. Hey, there are really plenty of you who already use WinXP. . . This I haven't expected actually. Seems I'm a bit late here since I plan to switch to XP in January of 2002 ![]() And glc, that's the fullest systray I've ever seen. . . ![]() RJ |

RJ - that's what's so nice about a NT-based OS (this is NT4 Workstation) - resources are a total non-issue. CPU usage right now is about 8%, and I have 183 megs of memory in use (I have 256 megs physical and a 300 meg pagefile). 44 processes running. Processor is only running at 417 (83x5) and the machine is not slow at all.

Actually, I have noticed significant performance improvement by keeping icons to a minimum.

Here's mine. I could have lots of pics, but I choose to keep a pic of my dad, who died in May, on mine.
As for all the icons, you can see that I don't have many at all. I just like my desktop that way. I have a few things on the "quicklaunch" bar instead. To me I would rather just to click on Start, Programs, whatever...than have all that stuff on my desktop. |

One that I started trying out on the Quick Launch is 'All Programs' ... using the green arrow as the icon.

Are you hungry - he is...
I like to keep mine clutter free too - no offense but nothing more annoying than a screenful of icons.

I got my desktop as a .bmp which will probbably be to big(1152x864 pixels). What program should I use to shrink it?
Jenni, I think your crazy sifting through the start-menu to find your prgrams. I avoid that part of my computer like the plauge, your much braver than me. Logan
