North Korean missile in upright firing position, official says - CNN.com

Quote:
North Korea has raised at least one missile into its upright firing position, feeding concerns that a launch is imminent, a U.S. official told CNN Thursday.
Quote:
It could reach as far as Guam, a Western Pacific territory that is home to U.S. naval and air bases, and where the United States recently said it was placing missile defense systems.

The United States and South Korean militaries have been monitoring the movements of mobile ballistic missiles on the east coast of North Korea. Japan has deployed defense systems.
Quote:
The U.S. official cautioned that the raising of the missile could have been just a trial run to ensure the equipment works or an effort to "mess" with the United States and the allies that are watching for a launch at any time.

Don't worry.......the chances are pretty slim that someone will remember to bring matches to light the fuse and even if someone does, the chances of a giant bottle rocket hitting the Pacific Ocean are still pretty good.

MRE?

- Meals Rejected by Everyone
- Meals Rarely Enjoyed
- Meals Rejected by Ethiopians
- Meals Rejected by the Enemy
- Meals Refusing to Exit*

* This acronym may be outdated; supposedly, the gum included in the condiments package is a mild laxative.

Maybe all that and I ate a my fair share of them. However, when you are hungry, they fit the bill.

I didn't realize the MRE was out that early, I thought you guys were still chowing on the updated C-ration.

Due to working in a remote location, one summer I chose to eat MRE's for about 3 months.
I noticed several side affects.
While I never ate the gum, the food does make you very regular, if you know what I mean.

Also, I noticed that MRE's reduced sex drive.
It make's sense, the military is mostly comprised of young men.

IMO, MRE's are designed to be more than just food.

Absolutely. Loved the C-rats except for the ham and mofos. Peaches and pound cake was the best. glc knows what talkin' about along with Panama Red. The dried stuff came out and we were the test babies. Not bad but needed water to mix with them.

LOL funny you mention the ham and mofo's my dad told me about those when I was a kid and called them the same thing. If their bad enough to get that name they had to be awful. I have seen a few c-rations but never had one, I have had more MRE's than I care to think about. The chili mac was my favorite before they discontinued it, the beef stew wasn't too bad. The best part of the whole meal was mixing the tabasco with some cheese and crackers when you were lucky enough to get it.

We never had MRE's in my unit. When I was on a boat (LCU = Landing Craft Utility) running up and down the rivers, we drew rations from the Navy literage ship. Those guys ate like kings and consequently, we had pretty good chow. I even volunteered to cook for a couple months. When I was assigned shore duty in the HQ, we ate at the Army mess hall. Typical Army cooks slop. We did have C-rats a couple times on the boat but no Ham and mofos but our fav was beans and baby dicks!

I never had the pleasure of having to eat a C-rat or a MRE either. However, from what I hear, some of the box lunches we used to get for our flights weren't much better. Horsec**k sandwiches get old real fast.

Somehow the Seabees always had good chow and cold beer. Always good to stand guard for them while they built bunkers. Rewarded nicely. But that was back in the rear areas, so didn't see much of that.

While serving in the Canadian Navy for 2 years we were storing ship In Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico.

When it was time for "Stand Easy"(coffee break) some body "accidentally" dropped a 24 of beer and we all had to drink his mistake.

At the same time some USN sailors were storing their ship. We looked over and they were drinking soft drinks while we were drinking cold beer.

Don't think they were too impressed. It was a hot day and we loved our cold beer.

Seems China can't even control their 29-year-old boy with bad haircut. I'm not sure what USA would do if he acted. I miss Reagan.

lil kim is nothing but a panzy. He won't do crap. But if he doesn't, I'm willing to bet someone within his military, just might walk up to him and shoot him in the head..

A coup would be nice although another person pretty much the same would probably take over. They certainly would not become a republic anytime soon.

My son is offline for the next 90 days. So basically, I will not know anything about the health of my son for three months. Just like Afghanistan. This is trying on my faith.

Although worried, as you should be, trust that he is safer there than Detroit or even Chicago because he is surrounded and protected by other buds and weapons.

Your faith is what he needs now. Here's hoping the best for your son.
