Web Hosting
I'll keep this as "general" as I can. I have no desire to learn HTML. When Yahoo used to have free web pages, I had a blast, in fact my first one was when Dubya won election. Was WYSIWYG and I was always tinkering. I even sent reboot a link on a page I built, asking him if the link to his site was ok. That goes way back. Yahoo dumped the free stuff back in 2010 and I fell for their free domain name, and my own personal name was available so took that, and pay $120 a year for their web hosting. Therein is the rub - their tools are useless to me and have been for 3 years. My site has been under construction for 3 years.
I have another site I'd like to try and last time I tried to move my domain name seems Yahoo didn't cooperate. What's the trick, since they gave me the name for free? Who owns my personalname.org? Can I buy it back?

It looks like personalname.org is available.
Seriously, Sarge, if they offered you a "free domain name" they might own it. If so, they will likely continue to do so if you stop their hosting. Eventually, you could check back after it expires and see if they renewed it. However, the best thing to do is to do a whois look up and see who it shows as owning the name. You can do one here:WHOIS Search for Domain Registration Information | Network Solutions

QM caught it bob. I used the personalname.com here as an example instead of my actual name, of which I have been referring to. After an hour of digging at Yahoo, I found my assigned auth code and can evidently transfer it. Will try that and see what happens. They all make it so easy to sign up but heck to get rid off. Like getting hitched and unhitched. Thanks guys
