Bought a House!
Well we got outta Crime Hills, Florida...We're in a better neighborhood, and it's only 25 minutes to the beach!
My wife cashed in on her retirement from Columbus City Schools and wanted to put it in a home. I said, "Great idea." So we just dropped 57K on a house in Cocoa, Florida 3 weeks ago!! All we gotta pay is taxes. No rent or Mortgage! We are so hoping that we are done moving.

Congrats and good luck on the new home.

Thanks. Yeh, I got a little bit of work to do, not to bad though. The fixtures in the bathrooms will need replaced soon. I may have to do a diverter valve. I have to install a garbage disposal.
Mostly small stuff. Getting the pool under control is going to be the hardest thing to do...I think. I'm pretty sure the second toilet is broken and will need replaced, but the wife wants to hire a plumber for that. Good for me. It's not a hard job, just a PITA. Gutters will need cleaned. Yuck, not looking forward to that job. Front screen door needs fixed. Screen is coming out and the door is not closing properly.I'm working on getting some pictures up. I dont have a camera except my cell. I just sent some pics to snap fish. Gotta figure out how to get them off now.

Congratulations!

Ha ha... yeh were not in the best area, but it's not the worst. We drove around at night alot and scoped it out real good. Checked crime rates too. It's quiet, were in like a pocket that has decent people.
Snapfish: Share:Registration Let's see if that works for a link to pics Hey it worked!! There's duplicates cuz I was just playing with it. Cell phone pics are fair. The bathroom pic is cuz the door goes right out to the pool area. I shoulda' thought to open it.

Thanks, guys..and gals
I'll have to work on the pics issue. I should be able to download them to my pc and then post. We'll just hafta see how that goes.update: Well it seems there's no way to just download the picture from snap fish. Apparently your friends you want to share the pics with, have to register to see them. I could upload them to facebook... I have an account... but I'm still trying not to be a FB socialite. Guess I gotta breakdown and buy a micro sd card for the phone. Maybe this Christmas or birthday I'll shoot for a camera. I already know I cant afford what I want. Prolly why I aint got one. We're still recovering from my being out of job. Had to quit my last one-long story..prolly needs a new thread. Currently working for the Hilton near Cocoa.![]() Ha, Easily!! It was ten bucks when I was a teenager... I actually loved Texas when stationed at Ft Hood. I'd never get the wife or kids to go for it though.... I reaally really miss my Stetson. Wife has said a cowboy hat is grounds for divorce. I've told her, "well make me too mad an' I'm gonna buy a bolo and spurs... So she puts up with my Carhartt Jacket and Fedora. If you are taking pics with a smartphone, all you have to do is email them to yourself. Connect to your wifi so you don't trash your data plan.

Yes it is email compatable, but we don't pay ATT for that service. It does not support usb that I'm aware of, or I maybe I just don't have the cord. It will support a Micro sd card; that I never invested in. My phone has pretty much been used as only a phone. I just recently found out it has GPS - not paid for of course. ATT rakes you over the coals. Everybody else in my family has migrated to other phones. I just love the durability of this phone. I went thru three phones in one year before my wife got this one for me. I drop them to often. i could easily say it's probably the toughest phone ever built, or at least one of the few.

Time for a cheap smart phone LOL.. Congragts on the house purchase.. It will be nice not to have to worry about paying a bank or landlord. Wish I could buy another house.. But since I had to sell mine a few yrs ago, and work was thought. I can't borrow two nickles to rub together and hand them back LOL... Maybe in the future things will get better.. Good luck, with the repairs at least when your done, you can smile and say yup I did it on my own..

Cocoa is a decent area from what I hear. I used to know someone who lived there and they never talked bad about it. The easy way to clean the gutters is to rent a pressure washer and blast them out while you're on the roof or a ladder. The water blast scoops out the crud and throws it on the ground quickly. It beats using a garden trowel and a hose. We bought that same phone for my son as his first phone and it is a tough one. Supposedly it is a "civilian" version of one that was issued to soldiers so it can take abuse like dropping it in dirt, etc. It should have a USB cable that came with it. It has a funny end on the phone side I think so you won't be able to run down to the computer store and grab one easily. You should be able to get the pictures off of it using the cable and then upload them to Imageshack. DOS_equis |
