Game Changer?

Doesn't need to get political and moved to WH. If Syria has indeed used chemical weapons (CIA thinks it was a test) and all those shells are primed and stockpiled, bombing them would be same as them being used, releasing all that gas and killing civilians. I bet they are moving them to be upwind of large populations. I bet by Monday we'll know. I also bet there are high-level talks amongst even the Russians. I just wonder if we're ready to take the PR hit. Israel has implied that if we don't do something fast, they will.

Let the rest of the world deal with it. The rest of the world is just as capable of going to war as we are. Let the rest of the world spend hundreds of billions of their money and send thousands of their young people to their deaths.

Let's stay out this time. We can only do so much to try to save the world.

On top of that we are over 16 trillion dollars in debt and need to start thinking about paying down the credit card before we go bankrupt. That's what responsible people and businesses do when faced with massive debt...they cut back their spending.

The politicians who get us into wars don't have any skin in the game. It's not their hard earned money they are spending nor are they sending their children to the battlefront.

Sarge, you are the thread starter. I'm actually going to ask you to please make a decision for me. There are 2 choices:

1. Move the thread to the WH.
2. Close the thread.

If you want to start a thread and have any doubt whatsoever whether it's suitable for GD or not, it probably isn't. Therefore, don't start it, or put it in the WH to begin with. Thanks.

I feel passionate about some things I feel will effect us all, so I use GD since there are more folks who might read versus WH. Chemical weapons and our nation's response to their use is serious business, and I tried to keep it inbounds. Seems pretty general, not jamming anyone, etc., and mainly just posing questions to think about. But I can't make the call to close or move.

Problem is, the first response you got crossed the political lines, as we expected.
