Stuff To Give Away

Man, I got boxes and boxes of PC stuff - mobos, ram, fans, cpu, hard drives( some never opened), SSDs, 9 copies of Win7 oem, and no telling what else. Paying $40 a month storage for it all, along with 3 boxes of cowboy hats. Should I itemize every part to see who is interested? Due to my health, it all has to go as I have no interest or need in keeping it around. Galbud boss lady will just chunk it all in dumpster in a year or so anyway. Would rather someone got use out of it. It's all free and I will pay shipping.

Sarge, I'm sure you will get quite a few takers. I personaly would take any of it off your hands. I still love tinkering and I got rid of everything I had. Two moves in the past year and the wife kept saying 'downsize'. Well were done moving and I want stuff back...

I'm interested in another HDD and an SSD, could use a copy of 7 too. I can pay the shipping. I'll PM you the address

Definitely put up a list. For everyone.

I might be interested in a few things as well Sarge. I'm always looking for things to tinker with, and might find something useful for my current pc.

I could use a couple copies of Windows 7, HDD's and SSD's for a couple upcoming builds and upgrades. I would be happy to pay for shipping.

I would also be interested in one of your Win7 copies. I'd also cover shipping.
Might also be interested in other items as well. Let us know what you got.

Could use a Win7 copy as well if it's 64bit. No shipping needed I guess just a key

I am sure we could all help you clean out the storage shed Sarge...

I'm not real picky when it comes to PC stuff I am looking for a couple ssd drives but I wouldnt feel right taking them for free...

motherboards are always fun to tinker with....

Maybe we could start a Free to Good Home thread? the only catch is if you take something from the list you MUST offer up something for free...

This is something one of the members started on another forum and it uses a Google Doc sheet and it has had pretty good results.

People are always looking to piece together rigs for kids or grandchildren on the cheap. I've used it to get one of my kids rigs going and I've given a way a ton of Motherboards and CPUs and ram myself... its just a good cool feeling...

Nice guy you are Sarge

Cool. I'll go thru boxes in storage, garage and around the house, organize then compile a list. Only mobo will keep is Asus Z68 as a backup.

This is gonna be tough, like a garage sale on a Saturday morning. For grins, one item is a USR 56k faxmodem. Anyone use dial-up anymore, lol. But my Diamond Supra Express 56k ain't getting pried from my fingers.

sure to someone who could use them... I just gave away some for free myself...

I still have 2 kits of the Patriot PDP DDR400-XBLK 2x512 kits I used for all my 939 overclocking ventures... this stuff runs 400mhz at CAS-2 and will run 650mhz at CAS-2.5 and all the way to 780mhz at CAS-3... it's amazing stuff...

It really depends on who's doing what. Had a friend without a PC and was given a box that wasn't running. All it needed was formatted. It used PC2100 memory. I maxed it out with the stuff I had and he was just happier 'an blue bird in a cherry tree. He picked up a CRT for ten bucks and was online with a 56k modem that I installed. That was just last year, right before we left Ohio.

BTW Stvy, I see you fixed it:

I came here from the PCMech newsletter. If you still have a copy of Win7, I'd be interested. I've got a PC that had belonged to my mom that had XP on it, but it has so many viruses it needs to be reformatted. Problem is, it was set up with a recovery drive, which is now empty. It didn't have CDs, just the recovery drive. So it's essentially useless unless I pay someone to either get the viruses off or buy a copy of Windows.

I'm planning to donate it to a local youth group, if I can get it back to a functional state.

I might be interested in a couple more items - my daughter has a computer that needed a 600W power source, but her friend sent one that was 450W and it fried the mb. I'm not sure if the graphics card is usable, either. I'm going to have our local shop check it out to tell me what is salvageable and what needs to be replaced.

What I have left, and I prefer it all go to same place, as UPS getting expensive, lol. You want it, take it all.

USR Faxmodem 56k model 5686
Linksys Etherfast Cable/dsl router model BEFSR41
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Cooler for CPU(for overclocking)
Many 120 case fans
2 Intel mobos with CPU, heatsink and RAM installed:
Intel D865GBF
Intel D845GEBV2

If nobody wants any of it, I'll put it to use. That's the kind of stuff I like to tinker with. Once we're back on track, I'll buy boxes of parts off craigslist really cheap and put compatable stuff together. I'd love to have another system just to see what I can OC it to... I really loved having extra parts lying around. Miss that. I used to go to the local flea markets and find old pcs that didn't work, buy them for cheap and strip 'em for working parts. Now I got room for a workbench too.. That's coming, The wife just doesn't know it yet.

Anyway; if anybody else wants any of it, it's not a big deal to me.

Oh well. I'm interested in the fans (and heat sink if that's still available). For a new build and possibly overclocking this summer.
I'll Paypal you shipping if you use USPS (it's the cheapest option - I live in Hawaii)
If you want throw in the mobos and stuff too and I'll also cover USPS shipping on that.

Let me know

Thanks,
