Smile When All Else Fails...

As I told Carl, the weight can become too much. Had my mother-in-law for a week at Christmas. She has Alzheimers. Critters in the attic are back for winter visit and driving me crazy. Central heating unit keeps going off/on constantly. Wifey's dishwasher on the blink, washing machine sprang a leak, a pc going bonkers and got a headache from DSL install. All this during a week vacation for Christmas, a time for joy, peace and understanding. Wifey is overjoyed I'm back at work and out of her hair. At one point I threatened to take all 3 pc's to the pawn shop.

Mother-in-law is back in Austin (I feel so sorry for her) and all the above is still having trouble, EXCEPT now DSL works. After 2 days I called a fellow tech. He took the truck and I followed in my bug. Within an hour we fixed the problem. Took glc's advice and got a Linksy's router.

If interested and don't mind a little showoff, I posted some speed results on one of my web pages. It's at Yahoo so click the pop-up ad to disappear.

I'm happy that you have your DSL up and running. 1247 d/l and 130 u/l ain't shabby. Mine averages 1192 d/l and 134 u/l and I can't wait to get the router.
Now with that taken care of you can go after the critters in the attic with a vengence.
Happy New Year to you and DragonLady!!
Carl
