I like rock, not hard stuff though. My favorite band right now is "Long Beach Dub Allstars." They're a bit underground I think, some members used to be in sublime. I also love the band Guster.

Cool

I like classic rock mainly. Hendrix, Zeppelin, Pink floyd, any good guitar music. Also Reggae.

Like just about anything, except country and R&B. I like Dave Matthews Band, BNL, and Blues Traveler when I'm working. Other than that, I'll listen to almost anything you stick in my ears!

I really like three types of music. Classical music (such as Mozart, Beethoven, Mahler, Tchaikowsky, etc.), rock music (both some of the current stuff, and some older 80's, 70's stuff as well), and also techno/trance music (such as George Acosta, Robert Miles, Paul Oakenfold, DJ Tiesto, ATB, to name a few, I also have TONS of misc.). One kind of music I don't really like is country though.

i'm still hip..

mostly rock.. i'm sick of putrid poppy/hiphop rubbish.. which, i'm pretty sureis the same sentiments expressed by anyone when their favourite style is passed over by "new" stuff..

smahing pumpkins, dave matthews, REM, dave dobbyn..

...

i used to be with "it", then they changed what "it" was, now what is "it" is strange and scary to me..

Classic Rock .. stuff like Floyd, Queen, Led Zep, Dire Straits.. ahh yes .. nothing current, dont believe too much music was composed in the 90s. And as an anomaly... Satriani .. & a bit of Vai

For all you Floyd fans .. whom do u like better: Gilmour or Waters?

I am a fan of Waters .. have all his solo works as well. Including, what I believe is the complete recordings of Floyd.

Roger Waters most definitely. He's one of the great bass player/writers (Sting, Steve Harris) Radio K.A.O.S. is a must-have. No, seriously, Steve Harris.

Just to name a few - J.J.CALE - the best there was the best there ever will be..
He's the writer of songs like Cocaine, After Midnight, Sensitive kind - and much more some of those songs adapted by people as Eric Clapton , SANTANA,
Then sure ERIC The great Clapton..B.B King..Lynard Skynrd. Allman Brothers Doobie Brothers, P.Floyd (Certainly Waters - as he was the brain of PF..)have all albums of them..Fleetwood Mac - Peter Geen (founder of FL MAC)Led Zeppelin

Jimmy Hendrix - Alvin Lee (Ten Years After) - The Band - Of course Beatles..Manfred Man's Earth Band.. Deep Purple .. Styx..Kansas , Foreigners,Boston...Dire Straits and The Nothing Hillbillies.. (Mark Knopfler on leads)Only 1 Album made ..
Most of them I have seen in concert - including Rolling Stones - three times.but I also do like classic music.
and then good guitars like Chet Atkins..

David Gilmour out of the two but I have all the material from both him and Roger Waters as well as most of Pink Floyd CDs [not final cut] from Meddle and on. One of my favourite band would be Steely Dan if I was to pick just one. I like classic rock from the 70's and on ... even the new tunes, a bit of mellow jazz and most especially female singers ... including Sade, Sarah Mclachlan, Enya, Shanya Twain, Stevie Nicks. In regards to the list that lil Jimmie shows, out of curiousity, how much space would that take or if it's easier to answer, how much space would the typical 10 songs use?

Classical Composers: Alkan, Berlioz, Prokofiev

Jazz: Miles Davis, Josephine Baker, Ornette Coleman, Dinah Washington,
Billie Holiday, Charlie Parker..

Other: The Jam, Supergrass, The Germs, The Modern Lovers, David Bowie, Roxy Music (with Eno), Judas Preist, Iron Maiden, The Flesheaters, lots more..

I EVEN LIKE COUNTRY!(well, bluegrass actually) Which is obviously getting a bad rap here!

What I don't like is the usual crap they put on the radio (the main offender being "classic rock" stations). How you guys can still like classic rock after its played incessently, i'll never know.

Since I play the bass I really like Stu Hamm! He teams up with Joe Satriani all the time and has a bass solo that is unreal! I guess you could say that I like Instrumental Rock Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and Eric Johnson etc

There are some songs "classical Rock' you will no more be able to get hands on it.. example Wishbone Ash's error of my ways - instrumental - ever heard about.. listen to the guitars.. they actually can do in concert what they can do on cd or record.. same as P-floyd claton and of cource J.J.Cale..many of the so called - good bands are only good on records..

Yes, seriously Steve Harris. The Brits produced both Jimmy Page and Steve Harris in a span of 20 years, and both have lasted more than 20 years as songwriters, go figure .

I love to see the eclectic collections of techies!

Mine would include:

Classic Rock (Zeppelin, Rush, Steppenwolf, Rusted Root, Dobie Grey, CCR, Lynard Synard, Queen, Pink Floyd all come to mind)
Current Rock (Creed, Ugly Kid Joe, Firehouse, Dave Matthews Band, U2, Uncle Kracker are my current favorites)
Christian Rock (Rich Mullins -- a good friend of mine I still miss, Petra, Whiteheart, Delirious?, Third Day, Plus One, Michael W. Smith are in my current playlist)
Jazz (Pat Methaney, Spyro Gyra -- most anything of a fusion nature)
American Classical Composers like Copeland (old) and Williams (new)
And I'm a sucker for anything from the Canadian Brass.

Ill listen to most music, except for coutry, and some rap/hip-hop stuff.

My favorite music though, is punk, both new and old, although there are alot of crappy punk bands out there now. Some of my favorites are Bad Religion, New Found Glory, Ten Foot Pole, and the old Offspring, before they were pop.

Plus i like regular rock bands like REM, BNL, and especialy Incubus.

I also like some new metal bands, like Tool and System of a Down.
