Under the "new thread" button there is "subscribe to this forum", what is this?

All that it really does is is show that forum in your user profile page.

Shoot I was actualy hoping that would send all new threads to me.

Any chance this be be an optional function?

Would some moderators use this function as I had hoped too? Is it possible?
