Thanks Hal.
I've tried Mwave.com, Google, going through Price search, etc. I can't get there.
Got a link I can try?

Man, this is weird!
Clicked on your links, typed it in the address bar but nothing.
Says opening page to..... and the status bar moves about 25% but thats as far as she goes. When I click "STOP", I get a blank page. Why only MWave site? I can go anywhere else with no problem.

Carl, old buddy, you get the strangest problems. Link works for me. If you have another browser, try it. I know you have no proxies or "hosts" to worry about.

"Links" and missing links still causing you trouble?

Sarge,
I really don't know why I can't get to the Mwave site, unless my wifey found some secret security to keep me off sites that cost money.
Ya Sarge, there are some missing links alright! Right between my ears.

IE6 > Carl. Go to the IE Properties panel and check default on the security and advanced tabs. If that doesn't work run the Repair Ie tool in the system tools. If that doesn't work, reinstall virtual machine(Download from Mickysoft) and finally if that doesn't work cuss Bill Gates and shop Newegg.

Morris,
Did each step one at a time. Still no go.
I bought my router from Mwave and since I got it working last weekend, thats when the problem started.
Guess I'll be shopping Newegg.

Carl: Go into your router's setup/admin page and check the security settings as it may have something to do with Java/activex stuff. I can get to Mwave and I am on a corporate computer firewall that admin has so screwed up that java buttons on most sites don't show up.

Send a message via AIM to Xayd
Welcome to telco DNS server hell, this is pretty common.

Try some alternates listed in the Bell forums at www.dslreports.com

Host name: www.mwave.com
IP address: 192.216.185.10
Alias(es): None

Browse to http://192.216.185.10 and see if it opens. If it does, Xayd has the problem nailed - DNS.

Hi glc,
Neither links or the IP address will get me to Mwave. No doubt it has something to do with Pacbell's DNS if I understand Xayd correctly.

Xayd,
I read alot of stuff at DSLReports, but either couldn't find or understand what I'm suppose too.

Carl, find "Hosts" in Windows and delete. Or for more info, go to Microsoft.com under support search type : Q219843

Sarge,
I wish I could say that that did the trick, but it didn't.

This is really frustrating. I can go to every site I've ever clicked on, but not Mwave. Geez, I buy my parts by credit card and pay my bills. Their losing business.

Carl, surely you have another browser laying around on desktop. If not, with DSL grab Opera and try mwave using that. If it works the problem is narrowed down to IE. If it doesn't then nothing is lost in trying. You tried the address both ways and nada.

No Sarge, don't have another browser handy. I'm going to try something else first. Saw something that caught my eye.
I've tried every way to connect. Links, IP from glc, Google, even tried the back door from Pricewatch. If I wait long enough, I get the "this page cannot be displayed".
Carl

Well, what happens when you use tracert?

Start, Run, type command, ok. Type tracert 192.216.185.10 and enter. Use a space between tracert and the address.

I know you uninstalled Enternet 300, but since I haven't yet, I'd try taking router out of the picture just for grins, for testing that site.

very occassionally, i get a similar problem. i can't access certain pages, that i once could. (getting the same standard timed out error as you carl) I can still access many other pages, but it seems that there is one or two that get a timed out message.

I'm assuming that it is some sort of "blockage" down the line somewhere, traffic on their sight is a bit to high to get through, and/or their server is down for some reason.. But it seldom lasts longer than a few hours. (certainly never a week)

in Boston, this happened quite frequently. I've been told that it was because there was one single network connection that ran through NYC, so if there was any problems along that connection, all of New England got cut off.

Thanks for the input, Troy.
I really don't know why I can't access the site. It is the only site I haven't been able to get. I believe Xayd was onto something because it started the day I got the Linksys connected.
I just don't see how one site is affected.
I'll keep trying just in case there is a "blockage" somewhere and it gets opened up.

The problem is not resolved but did find an answer of sorts and a long email to Linksys was sent today.
It seems that the router's Ip 192.xxx.x.xxx is the same as Mwave, Kodak, Citicorp, etc. I cannot connect to any of those sites. I upgraded the router's firmware, ran tracerts for hours, and followed all help and instructions.
This has happened to other people in the past. Its a bug in the router.
When I click on one of the above mentioned sites, my WAN is trying to connect to itself, so of course, won't load anything.
If anyone knows of other site's address that start with 192.xxx, let me know. I need all the ammo I can get.

Resolution!!!!
Router is up and working and I can access all sites. Thank goodness for Mwave.
The problem was somewhere in my system but don't know exactly where.

Carl, which one(s) of the 500+ tips we researched worked for you? I have a hunch Zone Alarm was part of the problem AND solution.
