A computer Joke
I translated it from German to english - hope have done this proper..
USER calls the ONLINE HOTLINE Computer group and place his question User Q:This morning when I started my computer the PSU started to smoke what shall I do?? Hotline Answer: You will need a new PSU . User : NO I think this has only something to do with a configuration !! Hotline : NO you definately need a new PSU .! Again the user acts up and told hotline that his friend told him that there actually was a configuration for the start of the computer in that similar case. and then he thanked and ended the call an hour later he's back and asks again the same question the guy at hotline already bored - tell him Yes OK you need to place LOAD NOSMOKE.COM as the last entry in your configuration file - Config.sys User: Yes you see why didn't you told me from beginning and hangs up.. just to phone again then minutes later and complaining that it doesn't work Hotline ask: What version of DOS do you have on your computer ?? User: dos6.22 Hotline : You see this version of dos doesn't support NOSMOKE.COM Please call Microsoft One hour passes and the same user is calling again . User : I need a new PSU Hotline : why what micrsoft did tell you? Hotliner: Entschuldigen Sie, normalerweise sagen wir das nicht unseren Kunden, aber es gibt einen undokumentierten DOS-Befehl, der das Problem beheben wird. User: Ich wusste es! Ich wusste es! Hotliner: Fügen Sie lediglich die Zeile LOAD NOSMOKE.COM am Ende Ihrer CONFIG.SYS ein und sagen sie mir dann, wie es Ihnen ging. Zehn Minuten später. User: Es hat nicht geklappt. Das Netzteil raucht noch immer. Hotliner: Sagen Sie, welche DOS Version benutzen Sie? User: MS-DOS 6.22. Hotliner: Wusste ich's doch! Da liegt unser Problem. Diese DOS Version wurde nicht mit NOSMOKE ausgestattet. Rufen Sie Microsoft an und fragen Sie nach einem Patch, der Ihnen dann das File zur Verfügung stellen wird. Sagen Sie mir dann, wie es Ihnen erging. Eine Stunde später. User Lothar: Ich brauche ein neues Netzteil. Hotliner: Wie kommen Sie zu dieser Schlussfolgerung? User: Nun, ich rief Microsoft an und sagte ihnen, was sie mir gesagt haben und er begann mich Fragen über das Netzteil zu stellen. Hotliner: Und was hat er gesagt? User: Er sagte, das mein Netzteil nicht kompatibel mit NOSMOKE sei.
