Is this possible??
I was talking to my brother in law the other day, sometimes I think he is full of sh*t. He is a SERIOUS overclocker. He said he knows a guy who took a bathroom exhaust fan, cut a hole in the side of his case and ran a 3" flexible pipe into it and ran it up into the crawl space up above his room where the fan was located. Now he has it reversed, so instead of sucking the air, he has it blowing air on his processor. It is supposed to be quiet because the fan is not even in the same room.

Sure, it's possible, but I doubt he has it blowing into his case. Think about it, would you want ATTIC air blowing into your case? And attic fans are noisy no matter what room they are in.
My uncle built a soundproof rackmount case in his music studio, and he exhausted it through the floor of his house (on stilts). So yeah, it's possible. |

I suppose it is possible, but stupid. I would imagine the attic gets awfully hot in the summer (mine reaches 120F). Not to mention the condensation/humidity factor.

That attic will get hot, not to mention our freind Mr. Racoon. Once he sees that vent and decides he wants to know whats inside, you'll blow your case full of dust before you find out what went wrong. True, the possiblity of the Racoon chewing that up are low, but if a hole forms you got a problem. Sure, you could make it out os metal($$$) to prevent holes and make the air hotter(?). I think it would be too expensive/dangers/innefecent.

My greatest idea is to cut a hole in the side of a small fridge and case, then run some flex tubing between the two. Thus you have an ultra cool machine and the beer right next to you when you need it.

You mean you don't have your beer in the fridge next to you already?! This is the 21st century you know!
