Interesting Languages

Konnichiwa. This question just popped into my head so I thought I'd ask

Does/Did any of you take any "more interesting" languages in school. By that I mean not Spanish, Italian, French, or English which seem to be very common, at least around here.

Currently I'm in 9th grade and take Japanese. In 7th and 8th grades I took Latin, although it was required where I went.

Being the product of a Jesuit education Latin was a 4 year requirement (latina lingua viva est was our teacher's motto) as well as 4 years of another foreign language, I chose german.

While I don't really keep up with german (my bad), I have found it useful from time to time.

I think that learning a foreign language should be integral to any child's (or adult's, if it was overlooked) education.

I've been studying Japanese as much as I can; all self-study so far. I've been trying to get into real japanese college level courses, but they fill surprisingly fast.

Would actually have enjoyed Latin, I took four years of German and was an exchange student. I must admit I don't enjoy having Spanish shoved down my throat, or the throat of my children. Living close to Canada I must say French was my second choice of which I took two years. German has always helped me, and there has never been a year in my life where I haven't used it to either help someone or benefit from.

Well, in High school I took Logo. Since then I've taken VB , C++, and Cisco! Try talking in those languages for a day and see if anyone knows what's up!
