how do the forum moderators come about?

When an opening come up, the moderators put it up for nominations within the admin forum and then we vote on the possible candidates.

Yea, pretty much, it also depends on contribution, attitude, etc as well.

Also the key word is moderate. A moderator helps keep the peace when they are not deleting spam.

Now guys, I'm not supposed to tell them about the secret cyborg augmentation programs, or the moderator breeding pens, right?

Hmm, I think the good Dokter may have cloned a few of himself. So Archie, Xayd, Paul, etc are all clones. Hal9000, on the other hand, is an example of cloning gone bad. Not quite sure what got slipped into the mix while he was brewing. Maybe kathaksung has a theory.

I knew a cheap shot had to come from somewhere and was disappointed when you didn't do it on your first post. You must be slowing down in your old age... just not moderator material

It wasn't a cheap shot. A lot of thought went into that post. Oh, maybe about 5min worth. Yeah I am slowing down. Unfortunately I am not like a bottle of wine. I am more like a hunk of cheese. Gets moldier and stinkier all the time.

We officially deny anything kathaksung may say. We did not use a secret mind-control ray to make his dog wet the rug. We did not use our electromagnetic cloud-control device to make it rain on his picnic. We do not plan to replace him with a clone with identical memories. Do not believe him.

Moderators aren't grown. They're mined!

"Quarry contains no preservatives, no additives, no artificial flavoring. And it's made without the use of pesticides or inorganic fertilizer. Because Quarry isn't grown; it's mined. It's the only cereal that's pure 100% rocks and pebbles, for a hearty old-fashioned flavor the whole family will enjoy."

When you say 'contribution' does that mean looking at the # of posts, or do you dig a little deeper and see if ones posts actually helped someone(s) out?

Heh, yeah. Patience is a virtue of very few of the current admin staff of PCMech, well maybe except for me but that's just cause I'm bored and downright lazy.
