Hi...
You know the aquarium screensaver that I think comes loaded onto Windows XP? Do you know where I can download it for my laptop? I have a Widnows 2000, and it did not come with that screensaver. There are a lot of similar aquarium screensavers around, but they do not all look that great. Please suggest something, thanks.

Hold it there guys -- we don't discuss piracy of any kind on the board. That screensaver comes on the XP Plus! disk or is available for $19.95 from the maker.
Mods -- please edit the post regarding how to find said screensaver and lock the thread. -Craig |

Homer15, audiyoda is right, that is part of a program that you must pay for, so it's piracy, so your post has been edited.
Just to clarify, the demo version of that screensaver shows 1 fish. The Microsoft demo (you must pay) version of the same screensaver gives you 3 fish. The full paid for version has 6 (or is it 7) fish. I'll keep this thread open for the time being, but everyone please keep suggested programs to freeware or shareware.

Streams: The poster stated that the free alternatives didnt look that great and is looking for a way to download the real thing - and we can't support that here.

I did (finally) find the screensaver I was looking for at http://www.serenescreen.com/index.asp
I think the screensaver is a lovely work of art, and indeed I will be going ahead to make the purchase (it costs 21.95) right after typing out this post. I think the price is worth it!! I had downloaded another aquarium screensaver a few days ago that was a freeware, but it did not live up to my expectations. Thank you all for your help and involvement in this discussion.

Go to (edited by moderator) for a very attractive and tasteful screensaver. It's the one I have and my wife says it's because it reminds me of her!

vacanthead: We feel that this link is getting a bit too close to the edge - this board is supposed to be "PG-13" and this is getting a bit questionable. Not only that, this doesn't have anything to do with aquariums. Link edited. |

Ok, I apologise glc.
I have to say though, the firm in question is a very well respected retailer in high quality lingerie, and I don't think the saver was in any way sexually orientated or suggestive and I would never link to anything that was. The thread was about screensavers though, wasn't it? Having said that, I understand and won't do it again. I have the utmost respect for the people who run these boards and the last thing I want to do is get on their wrong side. |
