Whoo Hoo... finally finished.
I've been playing consecutive games of Freecell since I got the MS Entertainment pack in 1995 and finally finished all 32000 games with the exception of three. Games -1 and -2 are a put in as a joke and are impossible (or at least without the keystroke command to cheat... can't remember it anyway) and game number 11982, which I found out a long time ago, apparently, is impossible as well.
NEVER AGAIN WILL I PLAY A GAME OF FREECELL AARRRRGGG. I think I lost my sanity 20,000 games ago

nice goin, hal... it's nice to know that machines like yourself can beat simple games without a problem.
the cheat is ctrl+shift+f10, then click abort. what are your statistics?

I would have to double check, but I think around 45%... some of them were a real pain to complete.
Unfortunately, I'm not the first to finish. If you check on the web, there are others. Doing the search is how I found out the one game was impossible. |

Hal,
My wife is in the process of doing the same thing. She has an excel spreadsheet so she knows which games she has already played and on what day she did it. I have no idea where she is, but she has been doing it for over a year now. Congrats. I think. Now I can tell my wife she has hope. Someone has done it and maybe she can beat your record. |

I never bothered with a spreadsheet, I just kept renaming the Freecell shortcut with what game I completed.

What's with games 1 and 2. I can work both on my PC without any problem.

Not games 1 and 2, but -1 and -2. They are an easter egg, and are impossible.

Congrats Hal!
I'm confused... I've never really messed with Freecell and when I start a new game, it asks for a game number between 1 and 1,000,000! Am I missing something here? I thought there were only 32,000 games? |

There are apparently slight variations of the game, is yours the MS Entertainment pack? Mine is the original disk from the MS Entertainment '95. I've used that to be fair that I have played 32,000 unique games. From what I understand, Freecell included in say WinME may be the same 32,000 games, but in a different order.
OH DAMN... just checked Freecell that is included in XP... seems I have 968,000 games to go

Mine is the XP version too... I don't think I'm gonna start this game! I already have too many bad habits!

Not even gonna try... I conquered the 95 version and that took 7 years. At the same rate, it will take me 219 years to finish 1,000,000 games. Even if I quadrupled the rate, it I would still have to live to the age of 89 to finish. I'm not that dedicated.
