Some very good deals on parts this weekend...
Just wanted to let any one who is setting up a network at home that there are some good deals this weekend.
Office Depot has Linksys 10/100 NICS for $4.99 after $15.00 instant rebate. I'm heading over there to pick up a couple. Best Buy has the Netgear 4-Port DSL/Cable router for $49.95 after $20 mail in rebate. Same router I paid $69.95 after rebate a few months ago. Very nice router, very easy to set up. Comes with Parental control software too that's kinda neat.

Thanks Ron,
I am redoing mine I think I will look into it. But I have found alot of times I haven't recieved my rebates from Best Buy and it became a hassle to track it down through them so a few times I have jus written off the rebate as never getting. |

best buy rebates
I concur, bought my last harddrive from best buy ....and by the time I received the "you didn't send the magic number" letter ......the rebate was past post..........so I don't count too much on the rebate thing...

At least pick up the NICs from Office Depot if they still have any. They have a $15 INSTANT REBATE for a net price of $4.95.
also, I've never had a problem with Best Buy rebates when the forms were properly filled out and the proper documentation sent along. |

I would'of thought so too LawyerRon
and to make sure I called the 800 number on the paperwork and let their rep walk me through it ..( a dual rebate)....as it turned out one half of the rebate I got (in house coupon) and the cashback from Western Digital I did not .....both coupon and letter from WD arrived after the exp. date of rebate.....I reiterate don't count on rebates .........if the price isn't a good deal w/o rebate might turn out to be not too good a deal ,period....
since I didn't get the 30 bucks from WD ......I could have gone anywhere( SAM's,COSTCO) and picked it up for what it cost me ....w/o the headaches just my 2 cents on rebates Last edited by twoguise; 05-20-2002 at 03:47 PM. |

Another good deal I saw today...at Walmart of all places. The actually have a 15" KDS RAD-5 LCD monitor for $325! That's a great price for an excellent LCD monitor, and it was in stock! Almost every place on pricewatch that advertises a low price is out of stock, and once they get some in, they jack it back up again.

The Wal-Mart I go to is a nice store...they actually have a 10 different selections of video cards
Plus they have this whole isle with about 5 tv sets featuring X-Box, PS 2, and Nintendo. And they got another isle full of computer games. I hate mothers day. They cleaned it all out It stunk.
