???

Mine has got to be the most crowded.

Good to look at others. Many people are not proud of theirs.

LOL

Gotta get rid of some of that stuff; you know I tried putting things in Folders (note Pat's Office (for me)) and Photo Apps for all my photo applications, but then I install something else and forget, then things get crowded again.

Cool

On the boring (but functional) side for now, but it's about time to reformat and add some style...

Talking

I had this wallpaper on my PC for over a year...Buzz Aldrin Salutes the Flag. I just found it again (changed it to the one with the Eagle after 9-11).

Okay...last one (I promise).

Was feeling sort of nostalgic and found this neat picture of the Apollo 11 Saturn V on launch pad 39-A at on July 11, 1969. Apollo 11 launched on July 16th, landed on the moon on July 20th and returned to Earth on July 24th. One of the greatest events in American history.

I have a nice desktop full of icons, and a background jpeg picture of a sunset I captured off the coast of the Gulf of Mexico in Florida!

Hi all,

Love your forum!

Hey Wolfie, to make a jpg image of your desktop, close all windows and click on a blank area of the desktop so no windows are active. Then click on Alt / Print Screen to copy the area to a clipboard. Open Imaging and select File/new /JPEG. In the work area, right click and select paste.

Presto! you have a jpg image of your desktop.

regards,
Homey

Finally found a color scheme that is not totally obnoxious. I hate picking desktops and such. I just want the machine to work and not look gaudy. But everyone sees you as an idiot if you keep that bland trademark MS bluish-green background.

nictrix: Wish I was there.
Wolfie: Glad I am not there.

Respectfully,

Demosthenes

Here's mine, I like the black cause it feels so much nicer on my eyes than bright colors.

I don't get it, how can I make it larger but keep it below 100k?

Furius92: JPEG compression. Save as a jpeg or gif or something besides a bmp. They are large because they simply write out three RBG bytes for each pixel.

Did you know, a bmp is written backwards? If you edit the first couple bytes past the header, you alter the last row of pixels. I think bmp is the only format to do that. MS, go figure.

Respectfully,

Demosthenes

Umm no, the original file saved is still 2.25MB as a bmp, jpeg or gif. Ah it doesn't matter, you get the basic picture of it. Original file as: that from the "print screen" command, the full screen. I copied and saved it three different times, one for each type. I didn't just change the file extension for the file.
