It's been a long time coming, but I finally have it.

"What is it?," you may ask. It is CABLE INTERNET ACCESS. Woohoo. Is this a brand new world or what?

Opens up a whole new world. I remember my first internet experience at 14,400kbps. If I wanted to download Netscape, it was a matter of beginning the download, watching an entire movie, making something to eat, watching a second entire movie, going back to the computer to sit and wait the remaining 20 minutes.

Wish we had it available around here. We've gotta use regular old dial up and it's crappy at that. 28,800 is as good as it gets, usually 26,400.

yep, aint the 90's grand.
I installed norton 2002 the day before i got the new connection.

DDOS is just another stupid, idiot, childish way for some 13 year old to get his jollies while everyone else has to run out and spend hard earned money for protection that may or may not work.

I am happy for the added bandwidth, though. I languished in 28.8 hell for a very long time. Now, i am in heaven. La, La, La

I'll never go back. You can have my broadband when you take it from my cold, dead PC.

I have a choice where i live, cable or DSL. I took cable, threw out my land phone and went Cell. I am very happy. I dont' have slow downs during peak hours, guess not many ppl in my part of the cable line use it.

Congrats WWD. Welcome to the real world of ripped off MP3's and DivX movies, :P .

So far my cable has been great. It's only taken a dump twice, once for about 2 minutes and once for about 10, and I've had it for 2 months.

Thanks for the sympathy vote Carl! Maybe someday we'll all be able to have access to the high speed lines (I hope).

Wolf, don't know what kind of PC set up you have going but wait till you connect your cable modem to a cable router and have you whole network surfing independently at lightning speeds!!

Life is good when you can download at one station, the old lady surf ebay on another while the young'uns jamming online games on yet another PC!!

Cable internet is amazing. The greatest thing about it, being able to laugh at my friends 56k. Ok, I dont actually make fun of him but I do love it.

Before Episode 2 came out, we were chatting and he said he had started dling of the trailers on starwars.com. With his 56k it took him over an hour to get one of the trailers. With my cable I had watched all 4 of them twice after 15minutes.

Congrate WWD!!

Ahhh, fond memories of my dial-up and its natural pairing with GoZilla. I could download anything, just needed a few days of 0:00 to 7:00 scheduling. Thought I would never use a download manager after I got cable, but alas I can max my connection at about 1MB/s with 10 downloads with 10 streams each.

Good for you Werewolfdaddy.
