Proud to be an American!

Frankly, I'm amazed at the effort to save the 9 lives of the American miners. I am just floored at the mining industry to begin with, and the amazing things they do, let alone the ingenuity that has been shown in the last 80+ hours.

I am so proud to be an American. All my life, I have always got choked up when hearing the Pledge, or when I hear America's Theme Song. The sight of Old Glory usually brings a lump to my throat. I have never taken my freedom for granted.

This country needed a tragedy that turned into a miracle.

God Bless the USA!!!

I am currently watching them pull up the last miner. This is so incredible that they were able to pump fresh and warm air, find the air pocket, drill 2 holes after breaking a drill bit on the first hole and get all of them out. WAY TO GO!!

I'm not amazed on bit. I knew that right from the begining those guys wouldn't stop drilling until all 9 of those guys were pulled out dead or alive. We're not the type of nation to leave those of us that are in trouble without helping, and if we must drill through 300 feet of earth, let's see how fast we can do it in.

I amazed as well, but like Dok said, I knew they would come out, it just depeneded on how fast they could drill the hole, thats how America is.

Well I expected them to make it thru. But they were lucky. Very lucky.

It made the main news headlines over here in the UK and the rescue was live on some satellite channels too. Was amazed myself at the amount of effort that went into saving the nine guys lives.

On a side note, when the Russian Nuclear Sub "Kursk" first sank, I wish the Russians had accepted the USA and the UK's help when first offered. I'm sure with the technology in the west, some of those young sailors lives could have been saved.
