Higher Standards!

One of the main reasons I come to PC Mech is because of the standards to which posts are held to. I don't want to search through endless amounts of dribble from the ignorant. I'm very pleased to see the staff here keeps this to a bare minimum.

I spent the majority of my adult life in Naval Special Warfare where Honor and Respect were not lauded but expected. Although it's very different these attributes are present here in the PC Mech environment.

One thing we don't convey well in our society is that once you cross a certain line is you can't just "take it back". If you steal something you are a Thief, If you lie you are a liar. Even if you can justify your behavior in your mind you are still what you are.

I for one am proud to be member of a community that through the vigilance and dedication of it's Staff and Members projects a sense of honor and decency.

While we all have very different backgrounds and don't always agree it's good to see the level of respect that is expected here.

Three Cheers to PC Mech!

Thumbs up

Well said Tuf. I've grown to love this community for those very reasons you stated.

Kudos to the members for their civil behavior and kudos to the mods for keeping this site nice and clean!

It's interesting. I have browsed many forums on the net, and I agree with Tuf. I haven't found one where overall civil behavior is the rule...except for PCMech. Although it sometimes seems like the mods react very quickly to situations, I like that. They are PROactive rather than REactive. Remember the old saying, 'an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.' Kudos for the mods.

Too many people grew up on AOL Chat and do nothing more than try to mess with people. Or they use profanity as if it were a normal part of everyday language. It has always been a pleasure on this forum to know that the younger members have displayed a professional attitude.
I don't know any of these people on a one to one basis, but I feel that if you meet them 20 years from ow they will be very successful in life and career.
