Samsung television problem....
Hi,
my grandmother has this fairly new(4 years) samsung color tv (about 25 inches) that takes forever for the screen to turn on. when you turn it on you can hear sound but the screen takes about 15 minutes to turn on. any thoughts? |

hmmmm.. no immediate thoughts on this one... but you may want to look thru http://www.samsungusa.com/cgi-bin/na...employeeLogin= and see if that helps or, at least, be able to contact Samsung on her behalf...

there is two possibilites that can cause this problem, one is that the crt (picture tube0 may be getting weak and taking a long time to get brite enough to see, it is very expensive to replace that.
the second one is that the high voltage ( 30,000) that feeds the anode of the crt may be week or very slow reaching the point needed to have the display brightness necessary to show a picture. a high voltage probe meter is required to measure this voltage. |
