Magnavox
What do you people think of the brand "Magnavox" in the way of DVD players. Is this a good basic player? What are the pros and cons of this brand? I heard it is made by Philips is this true?

Philips now wholy owns Magnavox (they were Philips-Magnavox). Just like Aiwa is a lower end brand for Sony, Magnavox is a lower end brand for Philips.
Considering the prices of DVD Players, I'd look at something more proven like Toshiba, Panasonic, Philips or Sony. You can pick up a Toshiba SD-2800 for around $120 and it's the highest rated basic player on the market. -Craig |
