Hi,

9600baud..thankx for the comment..car 'god'....I wish, more like an enthusiast

Just to let you know.. Their will NEVER be any scobbies (Subaru's)in my garage . Over here, we call them chocolate engines, as they melt pistons very easily (without even boosting!), and gear boxes are very lame (have you seen the amount of options for gearboxes on scoobies, tells u something about their quality). Besides, the way they come out the factory is really all they can cope with. Pumping a scooby with over 500bhp is near impossible, especially when you dont want to waste thousands or pounds on them. The only thing I like about scoobies is the noise they make!! I had my first and last scooby at 18 years old, and never again will I get one. Has to be the most over-hyped car out there...also suffers from serious turbo lag
Besides, even my mazda gtr blows wrx's away, and thats just with an exhaust and air filter on it. Fun starts, when you play with the Apexi fuel and boost controllers!!! The mazda gtr has an IHI turbo (similar to the scoobies) and is a lot bigger than the scooby turbo. Engine even has uprated pistons as standard! what more could you ask for , even on a budget!
As for the evo's, well their in a class of their own. Pure power, with minimal fuss!! I cant wait for that to arrive. Want at least 600bhp from that.
Actually the cars arent that expensive as some believe. I get gtir's for £2000 from Japan, Mazda cost me £1500, only the skyline was expensive...but its definately worth it...The EVO 6, with less than 10k miles is costing me less than £13,000. I think thats reasonable, as I could always sell it for more, once I get bored of it. ;-)

Finanacials problems, everyone has them. I just choose cars as my thing, rather than , say going clubbing all the time, or smoking fags, or drinking... sounds wierd, but all those extra pounds spent on cigarettes and booze add up...thats why I dont touch em!
Mind you, my women gets mad sometimes, as the cars get more TLC than her sometimes!!! but thats the way it is for my babies!!

It is Horsepower, but its brake horsepower which is a combination of power to the drive wheels and drawbar. Which today has evolved mainly to mean rear wheel horsepower.

wow... first i cant beleive the prices you're getting on those cars!! If I converted correctly, your basically new EVO's costing you about $20k here in US... thats insane! No wonder you've such a nice garage hehehe, well all the better. I am surprised at how much you have experienced around with diffent cars tho. I guess ill ask you before i buy any car now... you've quite a lifestyle! w00t!

Hi ,
Me again...

I was just thinking, I could never afford it or run it, but must be one of the top cars money can buy..

MERC CLK GTR
only 30-something made, and costs like a million poundz!(seriously)
Man, imagine MOT time, or just doing a simple oil change on that monster....

9600baud:

If importers are charging loads over there, my friend in Japan can get one sent to USA no probz, but We dont know the laws and taxes you would have to pay. £13K for an EVO6 GSR, thats about the price you would pay, similar condition.. I dont know the shipping rates at all for USA, but cant imagine they would be a lot greater than UK. It usually the taxes that kill ya!! I have sent parts for skylines to Canada before, for a friend who has one their.

GTiRs are also worth it. 220bhp as standard. Put an air filter, zorst, skyline intercooler, and this car will give nearly any car problems. But, always uprate the brakes and clutch in these. As standard, they cant really cope with that kinda power delivered.
It wasnt until I got my first GTiR that I realised how cr*ppy my Scooby WRX had been! Now, I cant really find any Scoobies that are willing to challenge my Nissans or mazda for that matter..
My friend has hit 500+bhp with NOS on his, now thats scary.
Put a GTiR with 300bhp against a MazdaGTR with 300bhp, and the mazda wins. GtiR would need at least 330+ to keep up with initial take off of the mazda. Mazda is lighter, and has bigger turbo as standard. Also engine can take more abuse, as it has uprated pistons as standard.
Ok, lets not get me started!!!!!!!

Nice 1

Unfortunately, we can't import vehicles that don't comply with our safety and emissions standards. They are closing the loopholes tighter and tighter every year.

Hi,

Just out of interest...

How come some people have got these cars over their.
I know some guy in Arizona who has a gtir ( I sold him a uprated gearbox). There are also a few supras and skylines? And ive met loads of people through our website, that live in US and have got some phatt cars?

Man, thats really annoying, if anything you guys have got the perfect long roads to enjoy these cars... Over here, its all small twisty roads, with loads of potholes!! Mind you, we still have a laugh, and the cooler air temps help our turbos...

Mind you, I had a laugh early on tonight, I actually thought the back-end of my car was gonna overtake me for a second
Sideways is the bestways!!!! lol

Essentially you can import a vehicle for off-road use only (cannot be registered for use on public roads) and you must post a bond equal to the value of the vehicle to ensure that you re-export it when you are done with it or you bring it into compliance. That's how race cars get over here. All non-US spec models that are here and are registered have been converted and inspected for compliance or are grandfathered from when the loopholes were bigger.
