Never happen. Too much money to be made by the teams and the stadium operating authorities to let that happen.

That is why I prefer college sporting events, no alcohol served in the facilities (at least that is true here in NC) and less drunken stupidity.

I still remember a long time ago the Baltimore Colts were playing a game. Baltimore had a linebacker named Mike Curtis. Well this fan runs out on the field, grabs the football and starts running off with it. Mike Curtis can't take it. He tackles the guy and they carry him off the field in a stretcher. I don't think that it ever happened again.

So maybe they should have just let the players beat the snot out of these guys.

The scary thing is the Dad had a knife clipped to his belt and could have easily stabbed Gamboa in the back if he so wished.

Being a coach myself....this just sickens me. You can see it every year...it gets worse and worse and the really bad thing is that it is filtering down to the younger age groups. We see fans get pretty rowdy at the high school level and there is no alcohol on school grounds...luckily none have rushed the field yet. We also almost had a fight break out with 2 parents at a 4th and 5th grade flag football game. They were yelling at each other over sitting a kid out because he didn't have his mouthguard yet and someone had gone to get him a new one. It just about came to punches.

Whatever happened to the times that society would take it upon themselves, as their duty as a whole, to beat the living hell out of anyone that acted that stupidly....damn reactionary lawsuits.

I haven't quite been able to figure it out. What were they thinking? "Let's go run out onto to the field and punch the first base coach. It will be fun and there is no way we will ever get caught."

I'll bet the father and son will sue the Royals and/or MLB for getting pummeled. They will claim something like 20 guys is a disproportionate response to a 3 person fight. Maybe they will claim the Royals bench had no reason to pummel them because it's security's job, not the players, to pummel them. Anyway I hope the law is not so stupid to actually let these jokers collect!!!

We have had a problem out here with rugby matches all of a sudden. Too many people are too soft.

We had some idiot kiwi kid tackle George Gregan who is the captain of Australia when he was playing for the ACT in NZ. He got jumped on by some of the forwards all about 100kg plus each but some of the crowd cheered him when he was taken away. I reckon a rules of the game should be changed that if an intruder comes on the field then all players are allowed to rake him (put their studded boots in him and pull away) to see if he is carrying anything dangerous until he gets off the field. And whatever else they want to do. Would reduce tension between the players and would discourage people going on the field too. We could put a sign up for spectators warning them too if they are a nansi pansi and try to sue. Should be able to protect ourself. Its like hopping in a cage with a crocodile.

Some other guy tackled a ref in South Africa and injured him forcing him off the field too. And in AFL and cricket things get thrown on the ground. Especially at the cricket which is a longer game so people get more drunk.
