Some people.....

Ok, we moved into our new house about a month ago. Almost everything unpacked, still the garage has lots of boxes, and stuff. My wife is pregnant, so i have to do all the lifting. The settling in is taking some time. Anyway, our new neighborhood, which is quite nice, and all the neighbors friendly, well, I get a letter from the association today, that someone in the neighborhood was complaining about me leaving the trashcan in "sight" and not stored "where not visible". ***? I mean, come on, I'm still moving in, and have a freezer and another work bench I still need to put in the garage. Give me a break.
I lived in an association neighborhood for 15 years before, not a single complaint, and for me that's good!
So I must comply, tomorrow I will wash it out and put it in the garage.

Humbled by the "trashcan police"

How about the association that wont allow the homeowners to put flags in the window,or sell girl scout cookies.!!!

I dont think i could live with that type of setup but i wander if those comminutys are alot safer,,

it is for some people but not me,, I love my girl scout cookies,,

Or those associations that limit the number and type of pets you can have.

Definetely not for me, too.

There's one in every neighborhood, trust me.

the heck with that goober... in that instance, i'd paint my trashcan dayglo orange, so when it is put "in-sight" on trash day, it'll bug your neighbor who has too much time to complain...

Yeah? I parked in my stall backwards one time, and I had a "ticket" on my window the next day. No Parking backwards. The exhaust puts soot on the building. HA!

Get used to it. There's always some retired F-head that will sit there all day and administer the rules.

"why didn't u buy the house with out association fees?"

If you live in an Association, which cobra does, that's not an option.

I am all for association, I was ranting that a person made a complaint, and I have not yet moved all my stuff in.
I think the association keeps the 'hood looking nice, better for resale value.

Our city just passed a law that nobody can park their cars on their lawns anymore and I thought THAT was bad. I mean, heck, it's YOUR lawn, YOU mow and water the darn thing, why can't you park a car on it? If THEY took care of it for us I might understand them being able to say what can be parked where, but THEY don't. Some families have more than one car you know! Where are you supposed to put it? On the roof? Up in the tree? Oh well, maybe we aren't so bad after all. A trash can? Sheesh! I'm not even gonna say what I'd do with my trashcan if I found out who griped about it. You get the picture I think.

Hey, that's a thought! By burying it, you could even put it right in your FRONT yard too! Nobody would see it! Probably would be a pain in the arse when you had to dig up your car every morning to go to work though!

Actually, I do live in the country (just outside city limits ) so their new "law" doesn't apply to us. No smell of manure out here though, no cows for, oh, a mile at least.

They passed the same law about a year go or so.People are still parking their car on lawns and as far as i can tell nothing happening to them, they are not getting ticketed.Othewise u would think they would stop parking their.
