Not at the moment but I have Windows 3.11 (Windows for workgroups, yay) on my Compaq Presario circa 1995, used it up to 1999. As soon as I get a spot cleared I plan to set it up for my sister to use for wordproccessing and web surfing.

I still have customers using it, mostly because they're too cheap to buy anything newer than their 486DX66 with 8 meg of RAM.

I've got Win3.11 running on a 486SX with the Windows Entertainment Package (games) sititing in the family room. When the herd of nieces and nephews comes over they use it instead of ours.

My bro has an extremely old computer sitting in his room with Window 3.x on it, not sure of the version. He uses it only to goof around with solitaire and that crap. Hopefully, I can scam him out of his floppy for my new computer because I'm too cheap to buy a new one.

My mother has what I call a word processor and I guess it is Windows 3.x .
It's a little quirky but it still works and she doesn't seem interested in getting another. She says learning how to use the one she's got was trouble enough.

i think maybe some cheap businesses out there use it.
that's a good idea, mc2phat. that'd keep damage on a damagable machine.

I have a customer still using it on a 486, it has an old CAD program on it that suits his purpose very well. Why upgrade if what you have does the job?

Trent - if she wants to websurf, you really should upgrade it to 95 original - or you will be acquainting yourself with good old Trumpet Winsock (may it rest in peace) or something - and there are no Java-enabled browsers for 3.1 that work. She will be locked out of a lot of sites. 3.1 is still viable for a lot of things, but Internet use is not really one of them. Even AOL stopped offering a 16 bit version after 4.0.

95 original runs quite well on a 486 with 8 megs ram.

I have an old 486DX w/8Mb of ram running Win 95 original and it does alright for web surfing and word processing. Of course I don’t have a NIC for it to access the LAN so I’m stuck with a slow dial up connection when I play with it.

I'm surprised to hear even this many people using Win3.1 . Even with not much memory Win95 solved a lot of problems. Including going to the Internet and running a browser. That was so amazing when it worked right the first time !!
The upgrade from 3.1 to 95 was one that I was happy to make.

I had a feeling you would say something like that.

I have three boxes on my bookself for bookends. One is MS-DOS 6.22. The other is Windows 3.11 and the other is OS/2. They do seem to hold up my books and impress all the Nerd chicks.
