Halloween is expensive here in Mexico, they ask for money instead of candy... I give them candy (I'm cheap)... Thats probably why they dont come around here much... Good for me...

Money!?

dang that's some high expectations. I remember being lucky if I got a full sized candy bar.

I ask for money at Christamas, then I can just buy what I want and avoid all confusion. I guess getting money at Halloween is good too becasue then you can buy your own candy (and avoid all disappointment, like when the old lady drops an apple in your bag. Apples... yuck)

I hate that too! Fruit or home made candy for Halloween... Why would any give you that because parents throw that away when they check the candy for tampering (At least I do that with my newphews) ... Just dont give anything...

I remember one year I bought a lot of good expensive candy... And no one came to my house that day... Like homer15 says... MORE FOR ME!

Since I have moved into a neighborhood with lots of kids, i have taken to asking THEM what kind of candy they would like to receive on halloween. then they are shocked when I have the candy that they want. (hey, they're still too young to connect me asking them 2 weeks before halloween and the candy delivery.)

hey that's a good idea.
You just know they think you are the Halloween God. Every time I went trick or treating I remembered the places that gave me the good stuff. Plus it was incentive to not TP thier house or smash thier pumpkins, so it was to thier own advantage to give us the goods.

Rockets are a round sweet candy... kinda like sweet tarts, but not tart, more sweet. They come in a roll a little bigger around than a pen.

I like Nerds and those white candy sticks that used to look like they came in a fake cigarette box I would eat them for hours...or until I ran out at least.
