Oh my god?>!?!!
I just signed into my hotmail email inbox and found that all msgs from april 2002 till nov13 were ALL erased. This happened to me 2 weeks ago on another email address but i wasnt too bothered coz they were not important emails. But this is my primary email address !! Why??? how??? what to do?? there were some IMPORTANT emails

With the E-Mail system that I administer we purge e-mails that are of a certain age, 90 days old or older. I am not familiar w/Hotmail but could this be a possibility?

Well if Hotmail does not employ a purging schedule then it seems that this would be a question that would need to be directed to Hotmail.
I did find one article from KSU about having problems w/Hotmail in the area of lost e-mails. The article was written quite recently - 9.6.02. They din't trash hotmail or anything like that. They just try to point out that Hotmail is so popular that they can not curently handle the volume of e-mails that hit their system, 130 million accounts and 1.5 billion pieces of e-mail daily. I would contact any Hotmail support via e-mail or telephone and ask them about this. Especially if it was important e-mail that was lost.

A word to the wise - if it's important, back it up somehow and definitely do not depend on an external service to preserve the one and only copy.
