fqpissed Pasting text into Word Pad

I like using Word pad in Win98 but unfortunately, it won't acccept a paste from OE and other sources. I have a convoluted method of going through Notepad first, then I can get WP to accept the paste, but surely there's a direct way somehow?

I haven't used WP for many years but doesn't have converters like Word does? In Word you must have the correct ones installed. I usually just install all but the very oldest versions. I can open just about any common Word Processor file in Word this way. It also lets me cut and paste from most programs directly into Word.

Notepad will let you paste plain text into it , which is a good way of getting rid of someone's else'e formatting easily. I don't use Wordpad but I don't think it has very many converters available for it to use. I may be wrong but I don't think it's a good program for doing anything other than creating documents from scratch.

Thanks, I'll look for converters. I seem to remember I used to be able to paste emails in there because I would use WP to get rid of those pesky >>>> things ( Find and Replace - I now use a little gadget called emailstripper). I have another similar program but it gets a little confusing with all those bells and whistles.
