Job Interviews (Don't say this)

With the job market being as it is, my thanks and chuckles go to Cheryl Hall who is with the Dallas Morning News. She offers some tips on what NOT to say in an interview.

1) " I will definately work harder for you than I did for my last employer."

2) " I don't think I'm capable of doing this job, but I sure would like the money".

3) "Do you know of any companies where I could get a job I would like better than this one?"

4) "My resume might make it look like I'm a job hopper. But I want you to know that I never left any of those jobs voluntarily."

5) "I'm quitting my present job because I hate to work hard."

Duh...

Kinda like a gal that turned in a resume where I used to work. Granted, it was just a convenience store, but get this. She comes in dressed in cut off jean shorts, a tube top and sandals. Her hair looked like she hadn't washed it or even tried to brush it for a month or so, and she had the biggest wad of bubble gum in her mouth you ever saw, just smackin' away. She hands me a sheet of paper that had been torn out of a spiral notebook and looks as if it had been stuffed in her school bag for a couple weeks and got crushed by everything else in there. She says that she wants to give us her "resume" in case we need to hire somebody. The paper had 14 different jobs hand written on it and the longest she held any of them was a week and a half. She was only about 17 and she had already had that many jobs since she turned 16? Yeah, she looked REAL promising.

You'd be surprised at the things ppl say when they are nervous or over-anxious.

well i like this one "3) "Do you know of any companies where I could get a job I would like better than this one?" Would be really suprised if anyone did say this.
Then again when people try to hre at our company the say the things that u would think they know will get them not hired no question ask.
