Got a LOTR riddle for you.
No one has ventured a guess yet to the riddle in my avatar. Well? Think about it and give it your best shot and explain your answer.
Edit: Dang, lost my riddle. Ok, here it is: Who IS the Lord of the Ring?

I still think the third movie in LOTR should go something like this:
20 minutes of Frodo running from the Knight Wraiths Then the Knight Wraiths kill Frodo and get the ring Knight Wraiths take the ring back to their "master" 22 minute after the movie starts -> movie over. |

Ok, my answer is still Sauron. Firstly because he was the only character ever given that title in the books (by Gandalf), he also was the one who taught the elves the secrets of ring-making and he obviously was the one who forged the Ruling Ring to enslave all others. Also as he shares a bond with the One, as much of his power is bound within it, he is also the only who can completely be its master.

I agree that the lord of the ring is Sauron. As for the other one, I have no clue.

I am really unsure how Sauron isn't the right answer, unless this is a trick question. If you want to know who are the 3 people who control rings of power, then it would be Elrond, Galadriel, and Gandalf with the 3 elven rings.
But it's pretty much accepted as fact that the title character of LotR is Sauron. |

I don't know much about LOTR, but, from what I've read above, is there a difference between master and Lord ????

Isn’t the ring it own Lord as it had tried many times to make its way back to its creator Sauron.

Tom Bombadil ?
The ring has no power over him. " If all else goes he will be the last as he was the first ." |

i would have to say sauron in this case...gandalf specifically says that sauron is the only lord of the ring "The lord of the ring is not frodo, but the master of the dark tower of mordor, whose power is again stretching out over the world!"...that leads to sauron, but if i would HAVE to give another answer, then i would say Morgoth, who was Sauron's master before he was overthrown in the first age. maybe in some odd way sauron is still controlled by his destroyed master.

The House of Tom Bombadil in BK1 of FOTR is where he makes his appearence.
He has just rescued the hobitts from old man Willow and later will rescue them from the barrow wights. "Show me the precious ring " he said suddenly, in the middle of a story: and Frodo, to his own astonishment, drew out the chain from his pocket, and unfastening the ring handed it at once to Tom." It's clear that the ring has no power over him. Later at Rivendell we find out more about him. He was Iarwain Ben-adar to the elves, oldest and fatherless. If you've read the Silmarillion you can speculate about which of the gods, the Valar, he might be. |
