Check your old posts !

I just entered ' Parangles' in Search and was ashamed to find
that after I had stopped looking at some of my posts there
had been lengthy and very helpful replies posted that I had never
seen or responded to.
My apologies to all - Many replies were very useful and I saved them. Thanks.

I think that the auto-notification doesn't work right all the time. I often find "old" posts that I've been involved in that have many posts after mine, but I never received a notification that the thread has been posted to......

I got rid of that function - way too many emails in my inbox every day.

I don't use it. It clogs my hotmail account. I visit here just about every day, so I don't think I miss a whole lot.

My inbox is almost ONLY pcmech emails. I can recall a few times where it hasn't worked and I've realized weeks later that there were replies I hadn't read, but besides that, it always works for me.

raftero, did you check your user profile to see if it's checked-off in there for auto notify?

A few months ago I switched from using the auto-notification to just doing a Search by Username when I 1st visit the forum each day. My inbox was starting to overflow. But in Linux I had it set to pop an icon when new mail was in - so now while my in-box is less crowded, I'm a little slower answering posts.

[p.s. --"Search by Username" meaning that I search my own Username - which shows all the threads I'm active in]

GaryRouth > That's what I do too, just search for my own username and it shows the threads with new posts in them since my last visit.
