newegg rma

My chip stopped wroking better yet it seems to be burned.Black line is visibel.Now i got rma from newegg but they said if their physical damga to chip or it seems like it burned they will send it back to me and charge for shipping.Don't really care about shipping will cost me like $5 i live in los angeles. But my question is should i cut the loses learn from this and buy my self a new chp and be very carefull at what i do.I also killed my board whell at least it appears to be dead so going to have to replace that anyway.

If it's burned like you say it is, NOBODY will replace it. Your idea about cutting your losses and buying a new one is the way to go IMO.

Take a look at the processor socket on your motherboard, and make sure that it wasn't damaged as well. I wouldn't want to power up another chip on there if it is. Do you know what caused it to burn?

oh ye i know my stupedety I raised fsb from 133 to 166. Why did i do that, totally have no idea except that i was sleepy. Learned one lesson never do anythng that may kill your computer when u are sleepy and not thiking right.
