Smile Finally - SARGE gets his own PC

Many moons and $8k I've spent buying off the shelf pc's for "the family". Newegg delivered my new stuff today. Many thanks to glc, who with a well-aimed kick with the toe of his boot to a certain feature of my anatomy, for recommending the Intel mobo and the P4 2.4ghz with that new-fangled 533 fsb. Throw in the new hd, cd and Enlight case and I'm off to the races. Never had a pc that was just mine. Kinda like a new Corvette - you know what the bad boy can do but hesitate turning the key. Guess I'll get started building.

Nice choice Sarge, just remember there's no speaker plug on the Intel mobos.

Congrats Sarge, it should be a nice one, but now you’ll need to find a way to keep the rest of the family from getting their hands on it.

Only hassle encountered is figuring out how to get the IO shield out to replace it with the mobo one. Doesn't look to snap out w/o breaking it.

Some cases have screws holding it in place. They can be hidden under the lip on the outside (what would be furthest away from the mobo), or even on the inside (down where the mobo mounts), and sometimes you need to get at them from the back.

Yeah, with some persuasion. You about have to get a screwdriver and pry the tabs up, then it will pop out.
