You may think this is funny and from a distance it is. But I don't think you would be laughing very hard if attacked by one of these, sweet little creatures.
Do not forget that the cat is one of the greatest hunters/killers next to man that exists on this earth. They are extremely agile and very, very fast. They are perfectly equipped for hunting. Their claws can tear great gashes in your arms, legs chest or face and if one should get on your back just try and get it off. It is not often a so called tame or household cat goes beserk, but it does happen and even the biggest, bravest men have come out second best in the encounter. I have personally seen the results of a cat attack and it was not a pretty sight. The gentleman in question was a fellow member of the military. The cat had climbed a tree and the owner wanted it down. The chap climbed the tree to help the cat down but the cat did not want to come down. In rage at being bugged the cat jumped right into the man's face and began tearing with it's claws. The chap tried to fight it off but that cat was just too quick and kept coming back in to strike more. While this was going on, someone had called the fire department. When they firemen saw what was going on they quickly got a ladder up into the tree to help the guy, but the cat then attacked the fireman. He scuttled back down the tree and they brought in a hose. They finally managed to get the chap down and rushed him to the hospital. His face was torn to ribbons and he lost an eye. It took months for those deep scratch wounds to heal, leaving dreadful scars. No, cat attacks are not really very funny at all, just ask Pete, that's the chaps name. He lost and eye and his military career over it.

sorry to hear about your friend eaglefeather, but if any cat came near me in a house like that he would become a part of the wall real quick,in that situation his hands are being used for balance hanging on to the tree and cant protect himself, this is face to face in a room

I have always hated cats.
That cat is lucky I am not his owner.

Nice thought, but there's one reason it wouldn't work. Iraq has lots of sand. Sand to a cat = litterbox. They'd be too busy doing their thing in the "giant litterbox" to attack. Of course, 10 million cats all using the bathroom at the same time....hmmm.....maybe we could just cover the whole country up in cat dooky!

Im sorry to hear about your buddy eaglefeather, and you are right, cats are specifically designed for hunting and killing - Lets not forget that one of the most amazing civilizations to ever exist worshiped cats like gods. And I dont mean to make a joke out of his misfortune or anything, this is an honest question, why didnt he just hit the cat, or at the very least put his face into the tree so the cat could only claw up the back of his head? at the very least his hair would offer some protection, and he cant dmg any vital equipment(like the eye).

Have you ever tried getting your hands on an angry cat?
There's no way you're going to catch it, it's too fast, too wirey, and has multitudes of sharp points on all sides. |

Right on reboot. Unless you have ever been faced with an enraged cat you really don't understand the situation. They are just too fast for us.
Sauron, we are not talking about your average, everyday cat, we are talking about one that is enraged. We are not talking about a situation where the cat is on the defensive, we are talking about a situ where the cat is on the attack. Just try getting hold of it by the scruff of the neck, I wish you luck. Pete was well lodged in the tree and had his hands free, the attack was very swift and unexpected. The damage was done before he could even get his hands up to protect his face. Even that fireman knew better than to tangle with it. They used a hose to back it off then went up to bring Pete down. Yes the ancient Egyptians did worship the cat. They even mummified them and continued to worship them after they died. There is something else that really has to be considered with an enraged cat. Does the animal have rabies? That alone is a very good reason to back away from a cat or any small animal that suddenly wants to take on the world. It is one of the things that we are warned to watch for in small animals, particularly if you spend a lot of time in the bush. I really like your brain fart Bailey. Would save us all a lot of grief. |

I myself used to have 6 cats - Found them outside the street next to their mom when they were all kittens...mom didnt make it across the street
But I took them all in and took care of them, and there was one that was just a naturally mean little SOB, even when he was a kitten when I food out, he would hiss and claw at the other cats when they tried to eat some too, I actually had to resort to giving him a toally seperate bowl just so he would'nt get into with the others. And as they got older he got meaner, pretty big too... and, and him went at it a few times, when he was really pissed - Maybe it was just me but I just knew better than to grab for him, I just countered his attack, he came in to scratch the leg, and as soon as he got within range, the leg went up and he was on it, hes he left a few nice little scrapes on me, but he left his ass print in my roof, then he ran into the little kitty condo I got for them and stayed there for about a week...Thats the trick, dont try and catch them, let them come to you...works well with women as well j/k
