Angry Fire why?!!?!

why can't every driver use their blinkers?!?!?!?!

I was at an intersection today trying to go strait, the guy across from me decides to take a left without letting a soul know, and almost drives his damn 4x4 into me.

90% of the time NO ONE uses their blinkers. my biggest pet peeve _ever_. I can't tell you how many near accidents i've seen just because no one has the common curtousy to take an extra second to bump a little stick up or down. is it that much work??

For some people it apparently IS alot of work. We have our fair share and then some of that type of driver around this city. I figure with ours though, its because they're on the dang cell phone. One hand to hold the steering wheel, one to hold the cell phone, and one to flip the turn signal = three hands. Gotta make a sacrifice somewhere unless you have three hands (and you know the phone won't be the thing to go).

Here in Honolulu, it's rare to see anyone use their blinkers. It's like that left stalk on the steering column is there for decoration or something. It's like the rule is "Just turn when you want to...why worry about the other driver?" or the "I'm the only driver on the road..." syndrome. People only care about themselves...

I too hate people who don't use blinkers, especially if your waiting on a car at a stop-sign and then they turn onto the road your on.

My Dad rarely uses his turn-signals due to the "lack-of-a-third-hand-for-his-cell-phone" syndrom .

Seeing people forget to use thier blinkers just reminds to use my own so that I never get into a habit of not using my turn-signals.

My biggest pet peve are those drunk drivers...I got a couple of pieces of dashboard put in my forhead when I was 8 cause of one of them...Luckily I have a VERY hardhead so it didnt cause any dmg to my skull...just some "superficial scratches" I tell you right now that word superficial, based on the definition you would think it wouldnt even hurt if it was superficial...WRONG!

Lol, I get a lot of visitors from cities in my town during the summer. Drives me nuts the way some of them drive. Typical tourons. No blinkers. Sudden stops. There sure do keep you on you're toes, though!

Most are okay though. It's only those few strange ones and close calls that you always remember.

Come up to where I live where our driving motto is "welcome to Saskatchewan where signal lights and low beams are optional".

Drive around Regina here.. ppl with their high beams on all the time. If they have a burnt out high beam, then all the more reason to drive with the high beams on instead of getting a new bulb.

Here, the rule of thumb is, if you need to get somewhere, use the right hand lane, because everyone else is turning right. If you want the left lane, be prepared to crawl, because some senior is dawdling along is his K car, kleenex box in the back windows, dog on his lap (oh, and no signals either).
Guanteed, somewhere in the next 2 blocks, he's going to make a right turn across 3 lanes of traffic, no signal, no shoulder check, and cause a pileup that he doesn't even notice behind him, just to get to the mall.
Half an hour later, you'll see the same guy, sitting with his brakes on in the left turn lane, totally ignoring the left turn signal blinking green in his face, and as soon as it turns red, he cuts across 3 lanes of oncoming traffic whose light has just turned green.
Then when 8 ror 10 people are honking and slamming on brakes, he drives right through, not having the slightest clue that he's done something wrong.
I better stop now, there's just too many of these id10ts on the road here.
We actually welcome tourists, at least they seem to know how to drive, and the more we get, the less the old guy is going to be on the road.

i use my turn signals when i need to signal to someone that i'm turning (jeez, that sounded dumb)... but for the most part, i don't have to. all of the turn lanes around where i live are designated left turn or right turn.

Man, you guys must have some pretty crappy drivers where you live. I drive with friends all the time that are able to talk on cellphone with their left hand, and effectively steer and signal with their right hand.

LOL!!! HAL9000, I used to live in Regina, and that is soo true. And don't forget to drive in the bus lanes, and pass people in intersections while in the turning lane. Driving there was hell.

I live in a HOLE called MASSachusetts, drivers here are refered to by the all caps portions of the previous words.

Here the minimum number of drivers on a road is 2, why? Cause you can not tail gate if there is no one in front of you. I am shocked that there are not more NASCAR drivers from Mass.

Lane changing, ssssslllooowww, so they block two lanes for a tenth of a mile or so

Turn signals, yeah right

Mass creep, this is where you just keep pushng out till the traffic has no choice but to let you go, but behind you is a hole in the traffic that a semi could pull into from a dead stop without causing any braking by the drivers behind you, (I will tell you a secret, being in front and almost causing a wreck is better than pulling in behind).

When I need to pull over for an exit, my favorite tactic is brake! The other driver is sitting there trying to block you (you know the type you speed up - they speed up, you let of the gas...) and they never expect a sharp tap on the brakes and a lane change behind ( I guess I do not know the secret told above)

Mass creep corrollary - never give eye contact -this is a sign of weakness and permission

Oh yeah - the roads are poorly designed. Numerous examples of high way splits with on ramps a hundred yards before the split so you MUST cross 3 to 4 lanes of traffic to be able to get to the split

Yup, totally agree. I'm in eastern MA as well.

reboot, I hear ya. I live on cape cod, which is basically a big retirement home. the funny thing is, the older people put their blinkers on when they don't have to (i.e. going around a sharp bend, even though theres no other direction other than into the woods they could go) and never do when it's helpful.

My biggest peeve in the car is the idiots that are in the left turn lane and try to squeeze through on the red. UGH! A close second is when a traffic cop allows the intersection to be blocked because they are not doing their job. What do we pay you for???

My biggest peeve is people who turn right out of a side street directly into the far left lane. What's the matter, people - too lazy to crank the wheel an extra half turn? I know your huge SUV has a big turning circle, but come on.....

Thank your lucky stars that you are not in Montreal. There, they don't even know what high beams and turn signals are!

Wow! Here in Louisiana everyone uses their blinkers all the time. They turn them on when they back out of their driveways and leave them on until they turn into their driveways upon returning home. Why is it that 80% are always signaling a left turn?

Tuna - that's prolly because they have all their Mardi Gras beads hanging on the turn signal stalk - the weight keeps the left signal on.........

So is the speed limit. Once I was stuck behind these two bozos driving side by side and having a conversation through their windows, going about 30 km/h (less than 20 mph) through the middle of town (Regina). I leaned on the horn, and one of the pinheads had the stones to flip me the bird!
